The purpose of this section is to establish a program for mentoring propective
teachers that shall be cooperatively administered between the Ohio Student
Education Association and the Ohio Education Association - Retired.

- Provide an effective transition into the teaching profession
- Improve the educational performance of prospective teachers through the support of retired teachers.
- Provide skills and strategies to prospective teachers to be effective in teaching students who are culturally, linguistically, and academically diverse.
- Help ensure the professional success and retention of promising new teachers.
- Assist prospective teachers in meeting state licensing standards.
- Educate the prospective teachers on the Ohio Education Association supported goals for public education.
- Educate the prospective teachers on the importance of membership and involvement within the Ohio Student Education Association.
